Social Justice

As a Christian community we are invited to engage in actions which bring about a better life for all people, " For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in." (Matthew 25:35)

At St Luke's, we encourage the children to engage in Social Justice actions. Our Year 6 Social Justice team lead the school in a variety of awareness and fundraising activities.to support organisations with a focus on justice and social inclusion such as Caritas Australia and St Vincent De Paul Society Victoria.

As Pope Benedict XVI stated that.. "for the Church, charity is not a kind of welfare activity which could equally be left to others , but is part of her nature, an indespensible expression of her very being." (Deus Caritas ESt 25, 2006)
