Welcome to St Luke's Primary School

WANTIRNA

Dear Parents,

On behalf of the St Luke’s School community, I would like to warmly welcome you to St Luke’s Parish School.

St Luke’s is a vibrant and diverse community that welcomes all families. For families with students currently at St Luke’s we look forward to continuing to partner with you on your child’s educational journey and for new families considering enrolment at St Luke’s, we would welcome the opportunity to present to you the great educational opportunities that our school has to offer.

Our school vision “I have come that you may have life and have it to the full” - John 10:10, encompasses our philosophy and commitment to providing a holistic educational experience for our students and their families. We are proud of our strong links with the Parish community and our Catholic identity. Our students have many opportunities to demonstrate and deepen their faith through participation in a meaningful religious education, social justice activities and in supporting initiatives of our very active Mini Vinnies program. Through Gospel values and our school values of respect, responsibility, resilience, empathy and integrity we strive to enable the full flourishing of each child by attending to their spiritual, physical, cognitive, and emotional and social learning development.

We believe children thrive when they feel safe, secure and happy. Developing the whole child includes developing positive and productive relationships between our students, families, staff members and the community. We offer high quality educational programs that give all our students the foundations for developing the skills to be successful lifelong learners and active citizens. This is made possible by the dedicated, passionate and generous-hearted staff we have here at St Luke’s.

I am very proud to be the Principal of St Luke's and warmly invite you to contact us for the opportunity to experience belonging to this wonderful community.

Thank you for considering St Luke’s Primary School for your child's education. We are very proud of the work we do and the opportunities that we provide for our students. St Luke’s Primary School is an inclusive school where enrolment is open to Catholic, and students from other faith traditions whose families support the values of the Catholic School.

Enrolments for Prep are taken the year prior to commencing school. We encourage you to book a school tour by contacting our school office on 9801 6917 or by emailing info@slwantirna.catholic.edu.au.

Prep enrolments are open to all students who turn 5 years by 30th April of the year they begin school.

Prep Transition at St Luke's

At St Luke's Primary School, we provide a comprehensive transition program for our ‘new’ Prep students. The children engage in fun activities which build their confidence and friendships, with their teachers and bigger buddies. Students become very familiar with our school so that they are ready when their school life begins.

MACS Governance Statement

St Luke's School is a school which operates with the consent of the Catholic Archbishop of Melbourne and is operated and governed by Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools Ltd (MACS).

MACS governs and operates Catholic schools in the Archdiocese to continue the mission of Catholic education to proclaim the Good News and equip our young people with the knowledge, skills, and hope to live meaningful lives and enrich the world around them.

Because the good work of educating the young is a co-responsible task led by every member of the Catholic school community, School Advisory Councils have been established to provide a crucial point of connection between the wider school community and school leaders. This governance model was designed to ease the administrative burden on our schools and parishes, allow parish priests to focus on the mission of education in the parish, enable greater collaboration between schools and ensure greater consistency in school policies and procedures.
More information about MACS is available at www.macs.vic.edu.au.
