Our Community
St Luke's Primary School Wantirna
Our school recognises the important role that parents play in the education of their children, where we believe that parents are the primary educators of their own children. At St Luke's our aim is to create inclusive Family-School partnerships and welcome opportunities to further develop the relationships between our school and the parent community. Research shows that when parents and schools work together, student outcomes increase.
There are many opportunities to become involved in the life of our school:

St Luke’s utilises a range of tools to stay connected with our families and the community. A school newsletter is published weekly on Fridays to both share events from the week and keep the community informed of upcoming events. Important notices and communications are shared to parents using the Operoo (formally CareMonkey) app, this app also allows parents to update student information easily and share it with the school. The Prep to Year 4 class regularly use the Seesaw app to share student learning and communicate with families.

Throughout the year there are a number of opportunities for families to attend school events to support their children’s learning and connect with other members of the community. These events vary from celebrating Masses, curriculum based evenings, information nights, Sacramental ceremonies, musicals, art shows, sports carnivals to social activities specifically designed to develop community. These events are always well attended and enjoyed by students, their families and the staff.
School Advisory Council
The St Luke’s School Advisory Council (SAC) consists of a wide cross-section of parents in the school community. The St Luke's Advisory Council plays a significant role in supporting the spiritual and educational welfare of the students through its support of the principal and the parish priest to achieve the school’s vision and mission statements.

School parents that would like to be on the School Advisory Council, will be invited to submit an expression of interest when a positions on the Council becomes available.
Parents & Friends Association
All parents are welcome to join the Parents and Friends Committee (P&F). The P&F work with the Principal and staff of St. Luke’s School to build a sense of community through fundraising and social activities.
